Hi I use white vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda to clean the cage. 2 parts of water,1 part lemon juice to avoid bacteria and nasty smells.
1 teaspoon of soda in 1 cup of water is great to clean the metal parts of the cage and keep them shiny.
I prefer this, because it isn't as chemical as some cleaning agents. It is also great for all the house. Hugs Julie

Thanks for sharing this, at times I use white vinegar but never thought of lemon juice.

I bet it smells better than just plain vinegar!

Yes and lemon juice eats through all the bacteria and bad odors. I saw that hint on the show " How clean is your house" And the smell of lemon is just very fresh.

Julie you are a life saver. The smell of vinegar gives me a headache and the lemon juiced mixed in it makes it better =]
I'm going to try the vinegar trick to clean my cage bars soon.
