This is the main vet I use for my rescue. I even went to them before I started my rescue. They are very knowledgeable about chinchillas.

Dear Andrea:
The boys & I live on the West side of the state & I was using a vet in East Haven (1-hr away)who is no longer an exotic vet. Do you know any other CT vets on this side of the state? I don't know where Kensington is and could really use some help with fur-biting. We became inadvertent rescuers when their owner couldn't afford to care for them anymore. They are healthy, have good weight, and have been raised together since birth, but they get along as well as my children....they are worse when I separate them. I'm ready to sew them into little terry robes until the hair grows back! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanx,
Danielle 203-723-9520

Hi Danielle, I don't know if you got help from Andrea, but i live on the west side of CT too and i go to south Wilton Vet group. I have not taken my chins there yet but they were really great with my hedge hog Daggnie. they were very experienced and professional and had all the best equipment. my hoggie managed to tie her self to the wheel and sprain her arm and they knew exactly what to do and were very kind and reassuring. I will be bringing my chinnies there soon for their wellness visits. the prices arent super great but then what is in Fairfield county? might be closer for you then farmington. here is their web page and contact info. there were tons of exotic pets in the waiting room when i took my hogie and they had experience with hedge hogs which i had never found ( my old vet came in to our first appointment with a print out from the internet). anyway that wasnt South wilton Vet group they were really good and did all they could do to help my Daggnie. hope that helps. -Julz P.s if you are closer to the coast i could also get you the info for a guy in new haven i heard about when Daggnie hurt her self. he is supposed to be good too but i cant speak from experience. southwiltonvet.com/51 Danbury Road Wilton, CT 06897-4405 (203) 762-2002

Julz:
That's great information. I thought I was the only Chincrazed woman in CT. Great to know I am not alone!
Thanx,
Danielle
